We are back for our third year of cinema celebration and we have expanded!

We will showcase 80+ projects both streaming online and in-person in Philipsburg, Altoona, and State College. Our lineup includes Made in PA, national, and international award-winning films about sports and music, parenting and automats, as well as comedy, horror, and thought-provoking stories about restorative justice, immigration, and youth activism. In addition to films, join us for three special industry workshops with two PSU alums (Patrick Fabian and Michael Craven) and a State College native (Joshua Leonard). We also expanded our world-wide selection of High School and college student shorts. Plus, we’re excited to bring back our in-person red carpet, our Lifetime Achievement Award, a 1920’s theme night, and programs for kids and teens!

Donate to the Food Bank — We are partnering with the Central PA Food Bank during the festival and will have bins set up at The State Theatre and The Rowland Theatre where you can donate food items — click here for a list of items the Food Bank has requested.

COVID RESPONSE  We are committed to keeping everyone attending the Centre Film Festival safe and informed. We will be adjusting according to the climate of the situation. The Centre Film Festival is hosted in Central Pennsylvania and takes place at the Rowland Theatre and Penn State located in Centre County and the Mishler Theatre located in Blair County. We will follow all CDC and State guidelines as well as the guidelines set by our venues. The Rowland Theatre and Mishler Theatre are spacious, and we are limiting screening capacity to allow for social distancing in the theaters and at our special events. In addition, the Rowland and Mishler have enhanced sanitizing procedures. We are also offering most of our films via online streaming from November 1-7 for those who prefer to engage with the Centre Film Festival from home.

Acknowledgment of Land

The Centre Film Festival and its venues are located on the original homelands of the Erie, Haudenosaunee (Seneca, Cayuga, Onondaga, Oneida, Mohawk, and Tuscarora), Lenape (Delaware Nation, Delaware Tribe, Stockbridge-Munsee), Shawnee (Absentee, Eastern, and Oklahoma), Susquehannock, and Wahzhazhe (Osage) Nations. As a land grant institution, we acknowledge and honor the traditional caretakers of these lands and strive to understand and model their responsible stewardship. We also acknowledge the longer history of these lands and our place in that history.
